Proud to serve as an MTA Director.

I'm standing again to keep driving the industry forward.

Jason Land

Your MTA Director

I’d be honoured to have your support to continue representing you and shaping the future of our industry.

WHY ELECT ME?

Every sector, challenge and opportunity.

As the 2025 MTA Board elections are upon us, it’s vital we have leadership that sees the whole picture, every sector, every challenge, and every opportunity, to steer our industry toward a strong and sustainable future.

It has been a privilege to serve as a Director on the MTA Board for the past 12 months, representing you through a period of rapid change. The automotive industry is evolving fast, and my focus has been, and will continue to be, ensuring every sector can thrive together.

I’m now seeking your support for re-election to our governing board, where I can continue to advocate for us as MTA members.

My focus is clear: Building a strong, fair, and future-ready industry.

FOR ALL MTA MEMBERS

I’ve worked hard to deliver that through:

  • Championing apprenticeships - featured in MTA Manifesto #1 for supporting the Apprenticeship Boost, a supporter of school Gateway Programs, and actively involved in MITO working groups. I was recently appointed to the new MITO Transition Board, helping ensure our industry training returns to industry ownership and leadership!

  • Access to information - Fair and reasonable access to repair information remains a top priority. It’s critical to the success of our repairer members, and we must find a practical solution that works for all stakeholders.

  • EV, ADAS and General repair standards - Members should have confidence that being a member gives them an advantage; standards need to be upheld to enhance and protect our businesses

  • Innovation for the future - I’m always keen to be involved in projects that drive our industry forward, most recently with Auxo Software, where I’ve contributed to the development of the new Auxo Workshop platform.

I have always worked to make sure your voice is heard where it matters - from my time as Kaimai Committee Chair to representing members on the MTA and MITO Boards, and through active involvement in groups such as the NZ Auto Electrical Group, the Refrigeration Licensing Strategic Leadership Forum, the MTA Council and EAG.

I also activley participate in ADAS and EV repair standards discussions to ensure member perspectives are front and centre.

I’m passionate about our industry’s future, and I take pride in being able to see things from all perspectives, while being transparent and respectful, working to deliver outcomes that are fair, balanced, and in the best interests of everyone. I bring experience, strategic vision, and a genuine commitment to promoting every sector of our industry, not just to keep up with change, but to lead it.

I attend many industry events to stay connected and maintain a balanced, informed view across all sectors of our industry.

ABOUT ME

I’m passionate about our industry’s future!

My journey started growing up in Gisborne, training as an Auto Electrical Technician before moving to Hamilton in 2004. In 2011, I took the next step by acquiring Collins Automotive, which has grown to a team of around 20, giving me firsthand experience in the complexities and challenges of running an automotive business.

In 2021, I co-founded ADAS Experts, a nationwide network of ADAS calibration centres, where setting the standard was our main focus. Vehicle safety is something I'm very passionate about and will continue to be a huge focus point!

Having been in the motor industry since leaving school, it’s no surprise that motorsport is in my veins. Anything that goes fast and makes noise has my attention!

Over the years, I’ve engineered, supported race teams, and competed in everything from circuit racing, including a couple of seasons in V8 Utes, to karting. More recently, I’ve returned to my roots, racing a TQ Midget at speedways across the country and reliving my teenage years in the sport.

Family is a huge part of life, and maintaining balance in our busy industry is essential. I’m lucky to have the support of my wife, Carley, and together we have twin nine-year-old daughters, Charlotte & Carys.

I also have two older daughters, Brooke & Ashleigh aged 15 and 19. Brooke is currently studying medicine at Otago University.

As a family, we love cars, motorsport, cheerleading and dance, as well as exploring the outdoors, caravanning, getting out on the water, mountain biking, and just making the most of our incredible country.

I’m proud of my journey in the automotive industry and feel genuinely privileged to be part of it.

Representing the hardworking people and business owners who drive our sector forward is an honour, and I’m as committed as ever to giving it my all as we look to the future.

If you share my vision for a respected, professional, and resilient automotive sector, I’d be honoured to earn your vote for re-election to the MTA Board.
